Join us for Wearable Wednesdays in July and August

Summer has not slowed down our events series! Over the next two months, we’ve scheduled three different Wearable Wednesday events in Cincinnati and Columbus. Join us for one or two or all three. We’ll see you there!

From Concept to Wearable – the Evolution of Kapture – July 8th, 2015

Ohio wearable startup Kapture recently mailed off their first of many audio-capturing devices. For this Wearable Wednesday event, they’ll walk through the journey of turning an idea to a product and the various iterations including prototypes and failures that got them to where they are today. Additionally, Kapture devices are available for you to experience firsthand what it feels like to capture what you heard from your wrist.

This Wearable Wednesday will be located in Tech Columbus on July 8th, 2015. Make sure to RSVP now! Click here to RSVP.

Party at Braxton Brewing Company! – July 29th, 2015

This Wearable Wednesday event is a laid-back casual event where we can relax, drink beer and get to know each other. We’ll be bring over some wearables and maybe even do a little icebreaker game that hopefully isn’t too awkward. This is a light and unstructured event so feel free to bring any ideas for the group in general, future meetups or whatever else. We;re really looking forward to this one!

This Wearable Wednesday event is at the Braxton Brewing Company in Covington, Kentucky on July 29, 2015. RSVP here.

Prototyping Wearables – Hands On 3D Printing Primer! – August 12th, 2015

This month’s Wearable Wednesday event is at Xavier’s Innovation Center’s 3D printing lab. Why 3D printing? Well, that’s how over friends over at Kapture developed their product. They learned how to employ 3D printing while creating iterations of their device. They’ll be sharing their experiences and prototypes. We’ll use the 3D printers to print the ‘grill’ piece of the device. Kapture devices will be avaiable to experience what it feels like to immediately capture what you heard from your wrist. Additionally Karina McGill and a few local 3D printing agencies will lead an educational session on how 3D printing works. We look forward to seeing you there!

This Wearable Wednesday event will be located in the Xavier Innovation Center right here in Cincinnati on August 12th, 2015. RSVP here.

About Kapture

At Kapture, we believe that listening is a powerful way to preserve moments and relationships that matter. Born and raised in Cincinnati OH, the company was launched by two guys – Mike and Matthew – who stumbled upon an idea that is now coming to market based on an even stronger motivation: that paying attention can completely change how we experience the world around us. We hear amazing stuff everyday, but what do we do with what we hear? When you see something, you take out your camera and snap a photo to savor the moment. But when you hear something, you often don’t get the chance to go back and get it, to relive it or to share it with anyone. Kapture gives you that opportunity. We’ve built a wearable device that you tap as soon as you recognize something worth saving. That simple tap sends the previous minute of audio to your smartphone, where you use our app to edit the ‘klip’ and either keep it for yourself or share it with the world. You don’t have to know or anticipate when something awesome will happen. Just tap after-the-fact to save these unexpected moments, whether you’re by yourself, with your family, or out with friends. Make your moments heard.
